2025 Adult Summer Beach League
Program Volleyball

The season will run on Wednesdays, July 9th - August 27th with a final beach tournament on Saturday, August 30. Each night will see lots of matches so please arrive early and be ready to play on time!

The courts are adjacent to the Central Turf by the river, please walk around and not through the soccer turf if there is programming in progress.

Information

  • Questions should be directed to: caitlynnechisholm7@gmail.com
  • Athletes born 2006 and older.
  • Matches will be 20 minutes or to 21 (win by 2) whichever comes first. Athletes don't have to continue to a second set. This way matches will potentially run ahead of schedule if need be. So, please remember to arrive earlier than your noted time, especially for the first games of the evening in case a sub is required for one of those teams.  Players submit your scores to the coordinator.
  • Given the commitments and vacations that families have in the summer, there is no sub rule. This means that if an athlete can't make it, it won't have an impact, and athletes don't have to worry about finding someone. Anyone at the court is welcome to sub in where needed.
    • Scores will still be recorded so that at the end of the season a fair tournament schedule ca be created with teams who are of similar strength.
    • If both teammates are absent, the game is forfeited. However, it should still be played out with anyone at the court who would like to fill in so that everyone gets a chance to play.
  • Beach volleyball is mainly self-officiated. Rules will be reviewed with athletes at the beginning of the program.
  • Teams closing out the evening are responsible for raking their court. Raking etiquette requires raking from the outside of the court to the center (new!) on each side of the net.

Location Information

  • Please do not disrupt turf field activities while walking to the courts. You may have to walk around. Please give yourself enough time to get there so as not to delay the start times.
  • Games will play ahead of schedule so please make sure to arrive early.
  • We will play rain or shine unless there is lightning.
  • Please make sure to pick up any garbage.
  • No officiating will be available.
  • Players should bring necessary equipment such as suitable clothing (no white clothes! The sand can be dirty!), sunglasses, hat, towel, water bottle, and sunscreen. Chairs or umbrellas are recommended!

Hockey Age Groups

House League hockey, is a recreational level of play. Most teams at this league level have 1 practice and one game per week, making it easy to fit house league hockey into a hectic family schedule. Registration is typically inexpensive, and away games are rarely hosted more than an hour’s drive away.

Rep (Representative) hockey is the highest calibre of hockey available in any given association. Rep teams typically have 11 to 17 players who represent the more skilled and talented players in their age group. Rep hockey is a fast-paced, highly-competitive level of hockey that offers exceptional players a challenge.
Rep hockey is about twice the time commitment of house league hockey. Expect a minimum of one practice, one development session and two games per week. Rep teams may also participate in overnight tournaments.

We hope you have a great season😃

Minor Hockey / Sledge 2025
Program Hockey

This program is used for registering for all Antigonish Minor Hockey and Sledge Hockey programs.

Antigonish Minor Hockey Association (AMHA) will begin collecting fees on December 1st. Fees are based on the team your player is assigned to. Click here for more information

For the 2025–2026 season, AMHA has an administration/insurance fee of $100 for all players.

Players will be charged additional Rep/houseleague fees, which vary depending on the division and tier. These fees will be communicated once team placements are finalized.

Registering for Rep does not guarantee a position on a Rep team. Players who are not placed on a Rep team can continue to participate in House League hockey.

If you are new to hockey and/or AMHA or need a refresher here are some documents to review:

Hockey Age Groups
Required Equipment
Lottery Policy
Funding Options
Safe Sport

House League hockey, is a recreational level of play. Most teams at this league level have 1 practice and one game per week, making it easy to fit house league hockey into a hectic family schedule. Registration is less expensive then rep fees, and there is minimal travel committment. In addition to the $100 administration/insurance fee there will be a $275 participation fee.

Rep (Representative) hockey is the highest calibre of hockey available in any given association. Rep teams typically have 11 to 15 players who represent the more skilled and talented players in their age group.

All policies are available on our web site under the Policies Tab.

Community Sport Organization Multisport

The Village of Bible Hill Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for the maintenance and care of multiple parks throughout the village. These include the Bible Hill Recreation Park, Airport Park Ball Fields, and many more small neighbourhood parks.

Intertwined and connecting many parts of the Village is our trail system. Dal AC trail, Eagle Crest Trail, and Farnham Brook trail to name a few, travel throughout the Village of Bible Hill. The Pat Mahaney Bike Trails also offer three difficulty levels for bikers to enjoy.

The department is also responsible for the creation and execution of opportunities for recreational activities. We aim to support the community by:

  • Providing quality parks and trails.
  • Providing support services to community organizations.
  • Planning and coordinating recreation opportunities.
  • Providing programming for different demographics. (children, seniors, etc.)
  • Advising Village Commission on policy to support the vision of an active, healthy community.
  • Providing special events throughout the year. (Christmas, Halloween, march break, etc.)

Program Recreation

Inverness Impact Girls Softball is launching this summer! With the help of Cape Breton West Softball, sponsors and the Get Active team we want to see these young athletes develop in a fun, team environment. Inverness has a very long history of great athletes and these girls are no different. Let's hit the field running!

Girls At Bat is an introductory level baseball program designed to reduce some of the biggest barriers anyone identifying* as a girl may face when accessing or participating in sport. Some of these barriers include, but are not limited to, sport being too competitive, having a perceived lack of skill, limited access to opportunity, and low confidence. Girls At Bat works to remove these barriers by creating spaces that empower and centre the leadership and voices of girls and provide opportunities for them to learn and play sport amongst a resilient and inclusive community. The program changes the game for girls by focusing on four key pillars: connection, courage, leadership, and love of sport. The program is implemented by schools and community organizations with the goal of increasing participation and retention in sport and play.
