What is the objective of Challenger Baseball?
- To provide opportunities for children and youth with disabilities to play organized baseball.
- To provide experiences that enhance the lives of children and youth with disabilities and their families.
- To empower children and youth with disabilities through baseball and physical activity.
- To teach children and youth with disabilities the core life skills inherent to baseball, including teamwork, communication, independence, confidence, self-esteem and social skills.
- To provide opportunities for children and youth with disabilities to make new friends, meet other children and families in the community and become part of a team.
- To provide the basis of physical literacy to allow children and youth with disabilities to continue with baseball, sports and physical activity into adulthood.

A buddy is someone:
- that desires to help children and youth with varying abilities enjoy baseball in a recreational/non-competitive environment.
- that is prepared to commit regularly to be at Challenger Baseball.
- who helps create a safe environment and provides a mentoring role.
- who helps players with catching, throwing, batting, fielding, getting around the bases and safety.
- who assists but also lets the players do as much as they can on their own.

I will participate because I want to, not just because my parents or coaches want me to.
I will play by the rules and in the spirit of the game.
I will respect my opponents, team mates, officials, coaches, buddies, volunteers and parents.
I understand that use of tobacco, drug or alcohol products during baseball activities will not be tolerated.
I understand that throwing and/or mishandling of equipment will not be tolerated.
I will refrain from the use of insulting, harassing or offensive language at the field and surrounding areas.
I understand that hostility and violence of any form will not be tolerated.
I understand that bullying will not be tolerated.

- A buddy is someone that desires to help children and youth with cognitive and/or physical disabilities enjoy baseball in a recreational/non-competitive environment.
- A buddy is prepared to commit regularly to be at the Challenger Baseball games.
- A buddy helps create a safe environment and provides a mentoring role.
- A buddy helps participants with catching, throwing, batting, fielding and getting around the bases.
- A buddy is a friend that the player can rely on for assistance during their time together.
- A buddy assists but also lets the players do as much as they can on their own.
