All sessions will run twice weekly, facilitated by Recreation program leaders, and delivered by volunteer community sport organizations.  Each lesson focuses on skill development through physical literacy and fun, setting the groundwork for a love of sport and an ‘I can play anything!’ attitude.

"Learn to Skate" program designed specifically for girls aged 12 to 17. This program focuses on building confidence, skill development, and fun in a safe and supportive environment.

Where: West Colchester United Arena, Debert

When: Sundays 6:00 - 7:00 PM

Start Date: Sunday, October 26th

Fee: $50.00

This program is for those 18 years and older with little or no experience.

AMBA JrNBA Skills 2025
Program Basketball

This program is open to boys and girls, ages 5-7 years, who are born 2018, 2019, 2020 & enrolled in school.  During this program, players will get the opportunity to develop basic fundamental basketball skills and have active play time.  Practice times will take place Saturday mornings, 8:30-9:30 am in the StFX Gymnasium.  Cost: $140

AMBA U10 Boys Skills 2025
Program Basketball

This U10 Boys program is open to boys, born in 2016 & 2017.  During this program athletes will get the opportunity to develop basic fundamental basketball skills and engage in scrimmages, in AMBA's Saturday Skills Basketball program. It consists of 12 sessions, October 25th - February 21st.  Practice times will take place Saturday mornings 9:40-10:40am in the STFX gymnasium. Cost $140

Boys registered in this program will have the opportunity to try out for the U10 Junior X-Men team, if they are interested in competitive play. The team will practice once/twice per week and sessions will begin in late September / early October. This involves travel and an additional fee for players on the team (in addition to the $140 initial registration fee).

This U10 Girls program is open to girls, born in 2016 & 2017.  During this program athletes will get the opportunity to develop basic fundamental basketball skills and engage in scrimmages, in AMBA's Saturday Skills Basketball program. It consists of 12 sessions, October 25th -February 21st. Practice is TENTATIVELY scheduled to take place Saturday mornings, 10:50am-12:00pm in the STFX Aux gymnasium. Cost $140

Girls registered in this program will have the opportunity to try out for the U10 Junior X-Women team, if they are interested in competitive play. The team will practice once/twice per week and sessions will begin in October. This involves travel and an additional fee for players on the team (in addition to the $140 initial registration fee).

This registration is open to girls born 2012, 2013, 2014 or 2015.  There are recreational and competitive team programs.

It consists of 12 sessions October 25, 2025 -February 21st, 2026. The practice time will take place Saturday mornings, 10:50-12:00pm in the STFX gymnasium.  Fee is $140.

Girls registered for this program will have the opportunity to try out for the Junior X-Women team if they are interested in competitive play. The team will practice approximately 2-3 times per week and try outs will be held in early October. This involves travel and there is an additional fee for players selected to the team.

This registration is open to boys born, 2012, 2013, 2014 or 2015. There are recreational and competitive team programs.

Boys registered for this program will have the opportunity to try out for the U12 Junior X-Men (born 2014 & 2015) or the U14 Junior X-Men team (born 2012 & 2013), if they are interested in competitive play. The teams will practice approximately 2-3 times per week and try outs will be held in late September/early October. These teams involve travel and there is an additional fee for players selected to the teams (in addition to the $140 initial registration fee).

Saturday Skills is divided into two sessions each Saturday morning.  Please read carefully to determine which is appropriate for your athlete.

The 9:40-10:40 Saturday session is called Skills Clinic and is only for boys NOT on a Junior X team.  It is geared toward those players who are new to the sport, and focuses on skill devlopment.

The 10:50-12:00pm Saturday session is called House League and is for ALL BOYS. Boys are organized onto teams, and scrimmages weekly.

The Antigonish Arena is a non-profit organization owned by Town and the County of Antigonish. We have been serving the community since 1969. Our arena is one of the busiest arenas in the Province of Nova Scotia.  We are the home of the Junior "B" Bulldogs, 4 Gentlemen's League teams, 4 Senior League teams, 450 young people enrolled in Minor Hockey, Seniors, Adult and Tots Skating, Spring and Fall Hockey Schools.

At The Arts House, we offer watercolour, acrylic, charcoal sketching, learn to draw painting classes for all levels. We also house a with a fully equipped Pottery School, located in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. We also have 5 Art Fairs at Chisholm park from June to August that are free to the public.  They run every other Friday night, with Art vendors selling their goods, live music, food, and more.
