RNS Golf Event @ Truro Golf Club

Kick off your conference experience with a round of golf and a chance to connect with fellow recreation professionals before the main conference begins!

Join us for a pre-conference golf outing at Truro Golf Club—a relaxed opportunity to get outside, enjoy a round, network with colleagues, and start the conference on a high note.

• 24 Tee times available at a RNS Conference Special Rate between 2:06pm - 2:51pm.

Victoria Park Hike

Scott Holman, Urban Forest and Victoria Park Supervisor, will lead a guided hike through Victoria Park at 4:00 p.m. on October 13.

The hike will highlight the ongoing impacts and recovery efforts following Hurricane Fiona, Hemlock Woolly Adelgid (HWA) prevention initiatives, healthy forest research including his internal salamander study, and some of the unique traditions and "folklore" that have shaped Victoria Park over the years.

It should be a great opportunity to learn more about the park’s natural environment, history, and ongoing stewardship efforts.

Time: 4:00pm - 5:30pm

Location: Meet at Victoria Park Parking Lot (75 Park Rd, Truro, NS B2N 4E5).

Advanced Volleyball Conditioning Camp hosted by Melanie MacDonald at Whycocomagh Education Centre is designed for highschool students looking to participate in a refresher camp before school starts. The camp is open to students grades 9-12.

The camp has space for 24 participants and the cost is $70

This program is open to boys and girls, ages 5-7 years, who are born 2019, 2020, 2021 & enrolled in school.  During this program, players will get the opportunity to develop basic fundamental basketball skills and have active play time.  Practice times will take place Saturday mornings, 8:30-9:30 am in the StFX Gymnasium.  Cost: $150

This program is open to boys and girls, ages 5-7 years, who are born 2019, 2020, 2021 & enrolled in school.  During this program, players will get the opportunity to develop basic fundamental basketball skills and have active play time.  Practice times will take place Saturday mornings, 8:30-9:30 am in the StFX Gymnasium.  Cost: $150

This year, AMBA will add an additional "girls only" weekly session on Tuesdays from 5:45-6:45 PM at the AEC from October 27^th to February 23rd. There is no additional cost for this program. Girls who attend Tuesday evenings are still eligible to attend on Saturday mornings at their respective time. Tuesday evening basketball will be for all girls aged 5-11, born in years 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 .

This U10 Boys program is open to boys, born in 2017 & 2018.  During this program athletes will get the opportunity to develop basic fundamental basketball skills and engage in scrimmages, in AMBA's Saturday Skills Basketball program. It consists of 12 sessions, October 24th - February 20th.  Practice times will take place Saturday mornings 9:40-10:40am in the STFX gymnasium. Cost $150

Boys registered in this program will have the opportunity to try out for the U10 Junior X-Men team, if they are interested in competitive play. The team will practice once/twice per week and sessions will begin in late September / early October. This involves travel and an additional fee for players on the team (in addition to the $150 initial registration fee).

This U10 Girls program is open to girls, born in 2017 & 2018.  During this program athletes will get the opportunity to develop basic fundamental basketball skills and engage in scrimmages, in AMBA's Saturday Skills Basketball program. It consists of 12 sessions, October 24th -February 20th. Practice is TENTATIVELY scheduled to take place Saturday mornings, 9:40-10:40am in the STFX Aux gymnasium. Cost $150

This year, AMBA will add an additional "girls only" weekly session on Tuesdays from 5:45-6:45 PM at the AEC from October 27^th to February 23rd. There is no additional cost for this program. Girls who attend Tuesday evenings are still eligible to attend on Saturday mornings at their respective time. Tuesday evening basketball will be for all girls aged 5-11, born in years 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.

In addition to Saturday/Tuesday, girls registered in this program will have the opportunity to try out for the U10 Junior X-Women team, if they are interested in competitive play. The team will practice once/twice per week and sessions will begin in October. This involves travel and an additional fee for players on the team (in addition to the $150 initial registration fee).

This registration is open to girls born 2013, 2014, 2015 or 2016.  There are recreational and competitive team programs. 

During the recreational program, athletes will get to develop fundamental basketball skills through drills and scrimmages, in AMBA's Saturday Skills program. It consists of 12 sessions October 24th, 2026 -February 20th, 2027. The practice time will take place Saturday mornings, 10:50-12:00pm in the STFX gymnasium.  Fee is $150.

This year, AMBA will add an additional "girls only" weekly session on Tuesdays from 5:45-6:45 PM at the AEC from October 27^th to February 23rd. There is no additional cost for this program. Girls who attend Tuesday evenings are still eligible to attend on Saturday mornings at their respective time. Tuesday evening basketball will be for all girls aged 5-11, born in years 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.

Girls registered for this program will have the opportunity to try out for the U12 Junior X-Women (born 2015 & 2016) or U14 Junior X-Women (born 2013 & 2014) teams, if they are interested in competitive play. The teams will practice approximately 2-3 times per week and try outs will be held in early October.  This involves travel and there is an additional fee for players selected to the team.

Arisaig Blues Minor Softball if a volunteer-run organization that provides children of all abilities the chance to play ball in their own community. This year, we are once again offering Learn-to-Play programming for the U7 and U9 age groups. 

Registration fees this year are $70. 

Practices will be held for the following age groups, with dates and times still TBD:
7U (2019-2021)

Mandatory for all U15 & U18 players interested in playing on a Rep team.  

Location: KMC

Off-Ice 6:30pm-7:30pm

On-Ice 8:00pm-9:30pm

DURATION:
This Program runs for 8 Weeks Starting January 19 until March 16   In the Auxiliary Gymnasium in the Amelia Saputo Center on the STFX campus. The Class is Mondays 3:15-4:15 PM. 

AGES:
This program is for boys and girls 4 years old - 10 years old (age during the program).

COST & PAYMENT:
This Program costs $90 for the 8 week term. Payment will be completed through Credit Card payment with Playfinder after registration is accepted. 

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Participants will take part in various types of gymnastic activities, games, relays, obstacle courses, etc. to develop their physical literacy. Our program follows the Canadian Gymnastics Federation's Can Gym Program, which is a badge incentive program that allows children to experience gymnastics in a progressive and safe manner. 

Please note: There are no parents allowed in gym during class time.  All pick up and drop offs are outside the gym doors of the Auxiliary Gym in  the Saputo Center.

Limit of 45 spots available, a waitlist of 10 will be maintained.
