Join us for a pre-conference golf outing at Truro Golf Club—a relaxed opportunity to get outside, enjoy a round, network with colleagues, and start the conference on a high note.
Whether you're an avid golfer or just looking for a fun way to connect with colleagues, we'd love to have you join us! Victoria Park HikeScott Holman, Urban Forest and Victoria Park Supervisor, will lead a guided hike through Victoria Park at 4:00 p.m. on October 13. The hike will highlight the ongoing impacts and recovery efforts following Hurricane Fiona, Hemlock Woolly Adelgid (HWA) prevention initiatives, healthy forest research including his internal salamander study, and some of the unique traditions and "folklore" that have shaped Victoria Park over the years. It should be a great opportunity to learn more about the park’s natural environment, history, and ongoing stewardship efforts. This U10 Girls program is open to girls, born in 2017 & 2018. During this program athletes will get the opportunity to develop basic fundamental basketball skills and engage in scrimmages, in AMBA's Saturday Skills Basketball program. It consists of 12 sessions, October 24th -February 20th. Practice is TENTATIVELY scheduled to take place Saturday mornings, 9:40-10:40am in the STFX Aux gymnasium. Cost $150 This year, AMBA will add an additional "girls only" weekly session on Tuesdays from 5:45-6:45 PM at the AEC from October 27th to February 23rd. There is no additional cost for this program. Girls who attend Tuesday evenings are still eligible to attend on Saturday mornings at their respective time. This registration is open to boys born 2013, 2014, 2015 or 2016. There are recreational and competitive team programs.
During AMBA's Saturday Skills Basketball recreational program, athletes will develop fundamental basketball skills through drills and scrimmages. These Saturdays consist of 12 sessions, October 24th, 2026 - February 20th, 2027 from 9:40-12:00pm in the STFX gymnasium. The Fee is $150.
Boys registered for this program will, in addition to Saturday skills, have the opportunity to try out for U12 Junior X-Men (born 2015 & 2016) or U14 Junior X-Men (born 2013 & 2014) teams, if they are interested in competitive play. Try outs for these teams will be held in late September/early October. These teams will practice approximately 2-3 times per week. Participation on these competitive teams involves travel and there is an additional fee for players selected to the teams (in addition to the $150 initial registration fee).
Saturday Skills is divided into two sessions each Saturday morning. Please read carefully to determine which is appropriate for your athlete.
The 9:40-10:40 Saturday session is called Skills Clinic and is only for boys NOT on a Junior X team. It is geared toward those players who are new to the sport, and focuses on skill devlopment.
The 10:50-12:00pm Saturday session is called House League and is for ALL BOYS. Boys are organized onto teams, and scrimmage weekly. Program Status: Registration Open |
