Saturday morning practice: Practices will rotate between Antigonish and Cape Breton.
Friday Night House League: All players will continue to participate in their regular Friday night House League in their home region (Antigonish or Port Hood).
3–4 games per month: Games may be scheduled during the team's regular Saturday practice time or on Sundays.
Travel: Some games will involve travel to locations such as New Glasgow, Truro, Sydney and Halifax.
To keep the commitment manageable, we will also look to schedule games against nearby C teams, including AMHA, Strait and Canso, whenever possible.
Goaltending If we do not have a designated goalie, we will ask players to rotate through the goalie equipment. This will give players an opportunity to try the position and perhaps spark an interest in becoming a goalie next season.
Looking Ahead Once a coach is in place, the plan would be to use October primarily for practices and player development, with games beginning in November. The QC Board will assist with scheduling practices and games throughout the season.
Once the team is established and playing, we can also look at registering for a female tournament that fits best with the team's schedule.

Ringette has been played in Nova Scotia since the early 1970s. Antigonish Intro 2 Ringette is back for the fourth season and we are growing quickly! Not only do we have a Learn to Play this season, but we have a U10 team also!
Join us today and learn how to play.
What is Ringette?
Ringette is a uniquely Canadian winter ice sport - often dubbed the fastest sport on ice! The main objective of Ringette is to use a stick to shoot a ring into the opposing team's goal. The team with the highest score at the end wins. Ringette is a great choice if you're looking for a safe, competitive sport for your child. They'll learn to skate, pass, and play on a team - all while making friends and having fun!
Intro 2 Ringette is a safe, fun, low-cost, 7-week program that will introduce players 4-13 years old to the sport of Ringette. Intro 2 Ringette components include rules orientation, basic strategies of the game, and time to practice the basics of ring control.
Each Intro 2 Ringette session is 50 minutes in length and is led by certified instructors who are trained to break down and teach skills to brand new players in a low instructor-to-participant ratio.
All of our instructors have coach training and experience, including Safe Sport training, and most are members of the St FX University Ringette team. And they are all excited to share their love of ringette with you and your child!
Not only are we going to teach your child how to skate and play Ringette, but we are also going to introduce them to a world that:
builds confidence
supports creativity
creates friendships that last a lifetime!
What you need:
Here is the best part - Intro 2 Ringette has been designed to introduce participants to the sport in a safe, no-contact manner that requires minimal equipment. This enables us to offer Intro 2 Ringette as a low-cost program that is more easily accessible for anyone who is not yet prepared to invest in a full equipment purchase!
Participants require only the following:
helmet with face mask
Gloves or heavy mittens
Skates
Warm clothes (snow pants are also recommended to help keep dry)
Of course, participants are always welcome to wear additional equipment if they have it!

X-Men Hockey After School Skills Camp (U9)
X-Men Hockey After School Skills Camp
Take your game to the next level with X-Men Hockey’s after school skills development camp. Our mission is to help players build confidence, sharpen their skills, and develop better hockey habits. Each session features age and skill-appropriate drills that challenge players while keeping development fun and engaging.
Players will work on:
Power Skating: Developing strong edges, explosive acceleration, backwards transitions, and agility.
Core Fundamentals: Improving passing, clean puck reception, stickhandling under pressure, and quick-release shooting.
Small-Area Games: Competing in tight spaces, winning board battles, and playing high-tempo situations that replicate real game speed.
Habits: Learning to scan the ice, communicate effectively, and keep the stick on the ice to improve defensive coverage.
The camp is built around high-repetition, game-like training to help players become faster, more confident, and more effective every time they step on the ice.

You may notice a participant's age here is different from their "real" age. For many recreational activities your real age is used for eligibility, but most sport organizations register participants by birth year, so this number is calculated by subtracting your birth year from the current year. For example, if the year is 2025 and you were born in 2020, your "sport age" is 5 for the whole year.
DOB of Participant
Enter the participant's date of birth to only show Programs they are eligible for based on each organization's age requirements. Eligibility is determined using the organization's chosen age rule (Calendar Year, Age During Program, or Custom Date of Birth range) for each program. If you leave this field blank, all Programs are shown regardless of age eligibility.
Gender Filter
Select a gender to only show Programs that your participant is eligible for based on the organization's gender eligibility requirements. If a program has no gender restrictions, it will be shown for any selection. If you select "Any", all programs are shown regardless of gender eligibility.
