Tucked into the southwest corner of the Province, this charming links-style layout offers a panoramic view of the local lighthouse and ocean. The rolling fairways, small lightning fast greens and unpredictable ocean breezes all combine to provide a true challenge for any golfer.

Yarmouth is one of the Province’s oldest courses. While playing Yarmouth course you will be treated to great views of the Atlantic Ocean. The course is fairly wide open but the small greens will make up for this as accurate approach shots will be required.

Note: Athletes who are 10 and under are encouraged to register with a friend who is roughly the same size as they are. 
 
The Antigonish Wrestling Club is committed to growing the sport of freestyle wrestling in Antigonish and throughout the Highland Region. Our coaches provide a positive and inclusive environment for athletes of all ability levels and experience. Our club supports athletes in competing in club tournaments run by Wrestling Nova Scotia and Wrestling Canada. We also support junior school and high school athletes in competing in School Sport Nova Scotia-sanctioned events. For the 2025-26 season, we will be supporting athletes from St. Andrew Junior School, École acadienne de Pomquet, and Dr. John Hugh Gillies Regional High School. If you are interested in joining the club and attend a junior school or high school that is not listed, please let us know ASAP so that we can approach your school.
 
For insurance purposes, all athletes training with our club are required to be registered members of Wrestling Nova Scotia. Wrestling Nova Scotia memberships run from January 1 to December 31 of each year. If you were a club member last year, your WNS registration is still valid. If you are new to the club, please register as a non-competitive athlete (this is the cheapest option, and new wrestlers will not be competing until January). All club members will need to register with WNS for 2026 before we get back on the mats in January.  
 
Practice Times and Locations:
Please note that practices begin on Tuesday, January 6.
Tuesdays 6:00-7:30pm École acadienne de Pomquet gym - All age groups
Thursdays 3:00-4:15pm Amelia Saputo Centre combat room (2nd floor) - 12 and under only

Club Fee:
A club fee of $60 will be charged for each of our three terms (1 - Oct-Dec; 2 - Jan-Feb; 3 - Mar-Apr). Registration and payment for each term can be done through Playfinder.
 
What to Wear & Bring:
For practice, be sure to wear athletic clothing that does not have any hard or metal parts. Clothing should be tight-fitting and ideally not have pockets. For safety reasons, jewelry cannot be worn for practice or in competition. Bring a water bottle.
 
Wrestling Shoes:
Athletes are required to wear wrestling shoes for competitions. Shoes can be purchased online (some sites to check include: Amazon.ca , Takedown Distribution , Wrestling Mart ). We also have some shoes that have been donated by past athletes available for loan. Clean indoor running shoes will work great for practice until you borrow or buy a pair of wrestling shoes.

Woodshop is founded by Dylan Beaton and Hayley MacLeod (black belts under Jaret MacIntosh of Pictou County Jiu-Jitsu). Dylan and Hayley both love submission grappling and their classes are currently all no-gi. In addition to co-ed adult classes, Hayley teaches a Female Youth & Women's program to help inspire more women to try and love the sport.
