The New Glasgow Kinsmen Minor Baseball program offers organized baseball for youth supported by the Kinsmen Club of New Glasgow and features competitive divisions, including potential Bluenose League play.

The Pictou County Trails Association (PCTA) focuses on developing, maintaining, and promoting recreational trails.

Connecting to the Town of Pictou on the Jitney Trail, the Short Line rail trail will serve as an active transportation corridor from the rural communities to the town.  The trail is close to businesses, healthcare facilities, workplaces, schools and shopping, and is within convenient and comfortable distance for walking and biking.

Pictou County Trails Associations goal is to complete a trail from Lyons Brook to the Colchester County line. Pictou County Trails Association is bringing new life to an abandoned railway. 

The Pictou County Hike Club is facilitated by staff from the Municipality of Pictou County, Town of Pictou, Town of Westville, and the Town of New Glasgow.

The Heather Bowling Lanes, located in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, is the "go to" bowling destination for Pictou County residents. Founded in 1962 by Bill Sobey,  the center was named after Bill's daughter Heather. Originally located on the Westside of New Glasgow as a 16 lane centre, the facility expanded to a 20 lane centre when it moved to its current location in 1993. At one time, Bill and his family owned 4 bowling alleys under the Heather Lanes name (New Glasgow, Glace Bay, Sydney, and Sackville) but now only the New Glasgow location remains.

The facility's focus is Candlepin Bowling, which is a type of bowling played primarily in the Canadian Maritime provinces and the New England states of the United States. We offer Youth Bowling Programs, Adult Bowling Leagues, Cosmic Bowling, Birthday Parties, and much more. Strongly community oriented, Heather Bowling Lanes strives to provide a welcoming environment for anyone wanting to enjoy the sport of bowling in Pictou County! 

Revitalising the former Memorial Rink into an efficient multi-use indoor (non rink) community centre.

Pictou County Trap & Skeet Club Shooting Range & Sporting Clay offers Skeet, Trap and 5-Stand Sporting Clays. Members and non-members are welcome to shoot. The PCTS Club offers an insured, safe and inclusive facility. We are proud of the Club's history, established 1960, of providing recreational opportunities for all members of our community and the continuing involvement with Seniors and Veterans. We welcome all shooters, from the experienced competitive shooter to those curious about clay shooting and wanting to give it a try.

The MOPC's primary responsibility is providing services and governance to the rural population. These services include public works, some local roads, sewer and water, recreation, and other municipal services and governance.

Frank H. MacDonald Academy is a pre-primary to grade 8 school within the Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education.

The Ward One Social & Recreation Centre has indoor rental space complete with a bar, stage, sound system and kitchen as well as an outdoor basketball court (50 ft X 90 ft), soccer field (300 ft x 150 ft) and playground.

Tartan Field Off-Leash Dog Park is a popular designated off-leash dog exercise area.

There are doggy bags and garbage cans on site. Please pick up after your pets!

West Pictou Consolidated is a grade primary to 8 school located within the Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education.

The Kinsmen Club of New Glasgow Ballfield is a community organization in New Glasgow, NS that provides a space for recreational activities and events.
