The Town is working hard to maintain all facilities that are used for recreational activities and we are consitently looking for new opportunities to bring new programming and facilities to our area.

The Truro Forest School offers regular, long-term, child-led learning in a natural outdoor setting, focusing on play, exploration, and connection to the land. Through small group sizes and the use of natural materials, children build confidence, resilience, and overall well-being while developing curiosity and outdoor skills. The program also nurtures respect for nature and Indigenous communities, inspiring children to become compassionate stewards of the environment as they learn, grow, and thrive through hands-on experiences in nature.

The Railyard is a free public facility and provides mountain biking experiences for all ages. The Railyard has been designed with a variety of skill levels in mind. From the beginner pump track, easy single and double track trails and beginner skills section, to the advanced “Callus Cut” jumplines and wallride, for more expert and advanced riders.

Founded in 2004, Nova Voce quickly became a prominent part of Nova Scotia’s choral scene, earning critical acclaim for its distinctive sound. The provincial men’s choir has performed nationally and internationally, appeared at major choral festivals, collaborated with leading musical organizations, toured widely in Nova Scotia, and released three CDs while supporting community charities and cultural events.
