At The Arts House, we offer watercolour, acrylic, charcoal sketching, learn to draw painting classes for all levels. We also house a with a fully equipped Pottery School, located in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Our organization offers activities of interest to the community:

  • Meetings are held the first Monday of each month.
  • Cribbage every Sunday afternoon beginning at 1:30p.m.
  • 45 Card Play on Monday evenings beginning at 7:30p.m.
  • Social gathering for the members on Wednesday afternoons.
  • Two bursaries are offered annually to a High School Graduate from the community.
  • Plant & Bake Sales are held in the Spring.
  • Bus Trips which include our members as well as members of other clubs.
  • Barb-B-Ques (two) are held during the summer months.
  • Annual Christmas Social and Dinner.

Havre Boucher Taekwondo, founded in 2007, is a growing non-profit Taekwondo club. It offers Olympic-style instruction with classes for children and adults three nights a week. Fees and equipment costs are kept low, with gear sold at cost and minimal testing fees.

Our clean and quiet grounds are situated next to the Brierly Brook and offer family accommodations in the heart of Antigonish. We’re within walking distance of restaurants, shopping, theatres, golf, and the campus of St. Francis Xavier University.

Often described as feeling like a "town within a town", Whidden Park offers a camping and cottage experience like no other! The gentle Brierly Brook winds its way through our 15 acre parkland and downtown Antigonish is just off our doorstep!  

Leave the car behind as you explore the shops on Main Street, dine on fine local seafood, and take in some great live entertainment before heading back to your site for an evening around the fire!  

Our campsites come serviced or unserviced. Power is rated for 30 Amps, with a few 50 Amp sites and the water is potable. 

Our cottages offer guests a comfortable and clean "mini-home away from home". Each features two bedrooms, a complete kitchen with cutlery, flatware, and cookware supplied. A separate living area with TV offers a port of refuge and relaxation after a long day of exploring

For those looking for the camping experience without all the hassle of setting up, Whidden Park also offers on-site RV rentals in the form of two camper trailers. We take care of all the hard work ahead of time, so no hauling, backing-in, or leveling - just bring your own linens and towels and move on in!

The Peoples' Place Antigonish Town & County Library 		Community Organization Recreation

The Antigonish Town & County Library, located on Main Street, is one of seven branches in its regional system and provides free services along with access to resources from all Nova Scotia public libraries. It offers high-speed internet and serves as a community technology access site.

The library runs free programs from September to June, along with special events like workshops, author readings, and summer reading clubs for kids.

Non-profit groups can use meeting spaces free of charge for non-commercial purposes, and the library also offers public art display areas.

Additionally, the Friends of the Antigonish Library (FoAL) group supports the library through advocacy and fundraising, and welcomes new members. For more information please call 902-863-4276.

Riverside International Speedway is a 1/3 mile, high banked, asphalt short track located in James River, Nova Scotia, Canada, about ten kilometers southwest of the town of Antigonish.

Riverside is the only stock car racing facility in Canada east of Quebec to be sanctioned by NASCAR, hosting the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series annually since its inception in 2007; and with its NASCAR affiliation reaching back into the early 80s when it hosted the NASCAR Busch East Series, Riverside’s NASCAR roots reach back further than any other active track in the country.

We aim to increase hockey participation in our local community while enriching the recreational & competitive experience of players, families, coaches, & fans from U4 to U18 levels. Quality weekly skill sessions, practices, & games while supporting opportunities to grow the game equitably through different levels of representative hockey: house league, Learn to Play, female, para hockey, multi-sport programming, & a commitment to ongoing coach development.
