Community Sport Organization | Lacrosse |
Truro Bearcats Lacrosse Association is a non-profit organization, sanctioned by Lacrosse Nova Scotia and a member of the Scotia Minor Lacrosse League, committed to introducing players to and supporting their development in all areas of Lacrosse… Canada’s Other National Sport. By providing a safe, inclusive, fun filled co-ed playing environment players aged 5-18 learn the basics of the sport while developing skill and sportsmanship as they progress. Box lacrosse is a uniquely Canadian game and is best described as a game of speed and reaction. The strategy of Lacrosse is similar to that of basketball, with five runners involved in both offense and defense with a goalie protecting the net at each end. The Box Lacrosse season is short! Weekly practices often start in April while the competitive season runs May through June and is finished in time to enjoy summer vacation. Our mini program for players aged 5-8 focuses on teamwork and having fun and runs May-June.
