The boat ramp at Margaree Harbour sits near the mouth of the Margaree River, where the river empties into the Gulf of Saint Lawrence on Cape Breton Island.

Marble Mountain Beach is a white-sand beach on Bras d’Or Lake with turquoise water created by historic marble quarrying. It’s a quiet, scenic spot for swimming, kayaking, and sunsets.

A gentle walk along St. Georges Bay and is a popular area for bird watchers and rock collectors

Mahoneys Beach is a popular area for bird watchers and rock collectors. The beach is host to poison ivy and the endangered piping plover. At low tide you can take a walk along the sandbars. The water is safe for swimming, but the beach is not supervised.

MacLeod School of Highland Dance is located in Antigonish, Nova Scotia and provides Highland Dance lessons to all abilities and levels from ages 3 to adult. 

Dunvegan Beach has expansive sandy stretches and low coastal banks. It is primarily accessed through MacLeod's Beach Campground.

MacKay Brook Falls is a beautiful place surrounded by a towering stand of hemlock and a great swimming hole.

Imagine a nice, easy, fairly level stroll along a babbling brook and through a mature hardwood forest with a scenic waterfall at the end. Add to that the songs of forest birds and you have this relaxing trail.

Situated off the Ceilidh Trail (route 19) along the sheltered waters of Mabou Harbour, the Mabou Marina serves as a local marine hub and a gathering spot for coastal events and community celebrations.

The Mabou & District Athletic Centre is a non profit , community commission run, inclusive facilty that has been proudly serving  Mabou & surrounding communities since 1971-72. 

The Mabou Arena was the first arena in Inverness County outside of the town of Port Hawkesbury. The Athletic Centre is devoted to promoting physical activity and strives to provide a safe location for community members of all ages and skill levels to meet (social network), participate in sport (skill development), or recreational activities. 

Lowland Cove is located on the northern tip of Cape Breton Island.
From the Cabot Trail near the community of Cape North, turn north towards Bay St Lawrence. Follow the road past Bay St Lawrence, as it becomes dirt, to Meat Cove. The Meat Cove campground is at the end of the road... and the trailhead. The campground owner will allow parking here for a small fee.

Park here and follow the dirt road as it winds up over the mountain. After a challenging climb the track levels out a bit and begins to slope downward. Look for a track that branches to the right and is marked with flagging tape. This is the old Cape St Lawrence lighthouse access road. From here you can follow the Cape St Lawrence branch to the coast, and then follow the coastal footpaths to the cove. Or you can keep straight past the Cape St Lawrence branch trail... which eventually leads down to the cove.

Lowland Cove is a beautiful spot to camp overnight... there is a nice camping spot at the far end of the cove, next to the brook. Expect to see eagles soaring overhead or whales swimming offshore. There is also a good chance of spotting a moose on the trail.

You will notice old cow trails along the way... some locals lead their animals down to graze at the cove.

Note: I would avoid hiking this area in the fall during hunting season. Limited to no cell reception.

Dominated by 350 year old sugar maple trees, the Grande Anse Valley is one of the largest old growth hardwood forests in the Maritimes. One of the most protected areas of the park, access is restricted to this short trail. A replica of a Scottish crofter's hut is found at the beginning of the trail. Find out why it's here. Keep an eye out for wildlife – moose like it here too.

The LCDA was created in 1974 to, among other responsibilities, take over management of the Sylvan Hall community centre and associated facilities and to promote local activities within the community. Facilities include The Lochaber Centre,  a playground and a swimming area (in conjunction with Antigonish County Recreation).

Provides visitors with interpretive panels of community history, picnic tables, a warm sandy beach and spectacular sunsets.
